Get CookiesHurricane Irma hit the Virgin Islands as a category 5 with wind speeds of 185 mph in early September 2017. This left 40,000 out of the 52,000 St. Thomas residents homeless. Less than two weeks later, Hurricane Maria once again ravaged the islands. This left both St. Thomas and Puerto Rico nearly 80% destroyed. In Puerto Rico, roughly 97% of the island remains without power. It is estimated power will not be fully restored to these Islands until early 2018.
United for Puerto Rico: Together Changing PathsUnited for Puerto Rico is an initiative brought forth by the First Lady of Puerto Rico, Beatriz Rosselló, in collaboration with the private sector, with the purpose of providing aid and support to those affected in Puerto Rico by the passage of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane María. 100% of the proceeds will go to helping the victims affected by these natural disasters in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico needs your support. Join us and help Puerto Rico recover!

If you would like a way to help, please consider donating to the cause. Any donation that you can afford will go DIRECTLY towards providing tools and provisions to our strong community.
How? I have good friends in San Juan, Puerto Rico that will purchase/receive the relief items that we are able to afford with your donations. From there, friends in the private aviation industry in the islands will pick up the goods and transport them directly to St. Thomas — to those who are able to put them to use in helping and rebuilding our community.
Hello! I am so grateful to have you here on Cookies for the Caribbean. You must be thinking, why cookies? Well, as a recent graduate from Johnson & Wales University and a Pastry Chef at the Breakers Palm Beach, baking is both my life and my passion. When I saw the devastation left by both Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria, I knew I had to help by doing what I love.
